The construction of the Perm State District Power Station (PERMSKAYA GRES) began in 1976. Over 20 design organizations and research institutes took part in working out the detail design of the station. The latest technical solutions were used during the construction and assembly operations. Installed at the station were unique systems of controlling technological processes, developed by ABB (Germany) and Energiko (Finland).
The design capacity of PERMSKAYA GRES was 4,800 megawatts, and its installed capacity - 2,400 megawatts. Built and put into operation in 1986, 1987 and 1990 were three 800-megawatt power units. The station burns gas for fuel.
In 1993 the enterprise became an open joint-stock company founded by RAO "EES Rossii". Since it went into operation PERMSKAYA GRES has produced 112,000 million kilowatts of electricity. At times its annual output reached 14,000 million kilowatt-hours. The station produces and delivers electricity to the federal (all-Russian) wholesale electric power market; the thermal energy it produces is delivered to consumers in the town of Dobryanka.
Financial matters are handled for the company by the joint-stock commercial bank "Transkapitalbank" and Sberbank of the Russian Federation. PERMSKAYA GRES has its representative offices in Perm, Moscow, Chelyabinsk and Vyatka, and is the founder of the Trade House "PermGRES IMEX". In the future it is planned to complete the construction of Power Unit No.4. A search for major investors is still going on. It is also planned to prepare technical solutions for the use of "zero-level construction sites" for building Power Units No.5 and No.6.
