JSC "Lena United River Shipping Company" is the biggest enterprise in the Lena river basin. It carries passengers and cargoes, renders transportation and forwarding services, procures and sells nonmetalliferous building materials, operates engineering, ship-repair and ship-building facilities, renders electro-radio navigation and communication services, and performs operations with securities.
The company's fleet operates along the Northern Sea Route from Khatanga to Pevek. The boats call in the estuaries of these rivers as well as of the Anabar, Olenek, Yana, Indigirka and Kolyma.
The company's fleet also operates in the Far East, the Black Sea and the Mediterranean. Its cargo fleet numbers 418 boats with a combined capacity of 263,000 h.p. The company's passenger fleet includes two high-class tourist motor boats.
JSC "Lena United River Shipping Company" is the founder of eight other companies. Besides, it is a major shareholder of two open joint-stock companies — the Yana River Shipping Company and the Yakutsk River Port.
