The Russian Academy of Business is a public national organization, which unites distinguished public and political leaders, prominent businessmen and entrepreneurs, directors of enterprises, and representatives of Russian culture and science. The Academy was established in 2000 with the purpose of providing informational support for promoting business in the community, as well as the development of a positive image of the national Russian business.
The Academy has branches in forty-five Regions of Russia. The branches are supported by the administrations of the regional legislative and executive bodies, who participate in events prepared by the local offices of the Academy.
The public character of the Russian Academy of Business is embodied by its board of directors, which includes twenty nine Governors of the Russian Regions, well known artists and patrons of culture, outstanding Russian businessmen and entrepreneurs. Irina Gorbulina is the president of the Academy from its very beginning. The founders of the Academy include a number of notable Russian public organizations, such as the International Journalists Association "ASMO Press" - a predecessor to the Academy in its activities.
Collective members of the Academy are Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, Russian Public Organization of Small and Medium Enterprises "Opora Rossii" and other business associations. Academy has partnership relations with many business structures, such as: Chamber of Commerce of the Russian Federation, Association of Russian Banks, Association of Regional Banks of Russia, and National Council on Corporate Governance.
The Academy maintains close relations with the President's Administration, the Government of the Russian Federation, State Duma, Federal Council of the Federal Committee of the Russian Federation, various Federal Ministries and agencies of Russia as well as Moscow City and Moscow Region governments.
As part of its activities , the Academy: - holds congresses, conferences and "round tables" on the key issues of the Russian economy and business; - over the years, successfully implements its own program " Russian - APR" , aimed at strengthening the strategic economic and cultural partnership between Russia and Asia -Pacific region , including the organization of business missions; - the Academy established the National public awards " Russian of the Year ", "Olympia " and “Darin”, rewarding each year the prominent citizens of Russia; - publishes own “Business Review” magazine , etc.
